100th Anniversary of WW1. 1914-18. Mixed media works by Gerry Gleason.
On the 11th hour of 11th day of the 11th month 1918. The great guns on the Western Front fell silent. The time 10.59hrs one minute before the war ended a soldier died. That one minute seems like an eternity if we hold our breath and yet one minute later he would have lived. To me that sums up the futility of war. The bugler cannot be heard though he plays a lament only the dead can hear his note.
